What’s the job role?

We are looking for a software engineer to join our team supporting an interesting startup with considerable computer vision and augmented reality requirements. NeuroNav, a startup co-founded with Nova and operating in the medical/neurological space, is looking to democratise access to neuro-navigation systems by creating an accurate, portable, and more affordable solution to support neurosurgery.


You will join a multi-disciplinary team working on producing the early iterations of the NeuroNav product, and your experience and expertise in software engineering and computer vision will shape our approach to the data processing of medical imagery and the accurate presentation and optical alignment of that data and play a key part in the the success of this startup business.


This role is for an initial 6 month period following which there will be a number of options including extending the period or joining NeuroNav in a permanent capacity.


As a software engineer you will:

  • Have strong numerical, written and verbal skills
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver a great system.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for technical areas of the solution
  • Develop novel and reliable solutions to technical problems
  • Work using Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Be comfortable working using multiple languages and frameworks
  • Have a solid grounding in software development practices including
    • Version Control
    • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
    • Unit and integration Testing

Requirements

Specifically for this role we are looking for candidates with some or all of the following:

  • Good solid computer science background, possibly BSc or Masters, or PhD
  • Strong mathematical / analytical skills
  • Significant academic or practical experience of:
    • Computer Vision
    • Unity (or similar)
    • C# or C++ for UWP (Universal Windows Platform) development
    • 3D Modelling
    • Virtual Reality or Augmented Reality
    • Machine Learning

Knowledge and experience of mobile, client / server web application would be beneficial, but is not a core requirement of this role.
